The John Giles Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2012 Walk of Dreams. The foundation is delighted with the level of support it has received for this year’s event.
On May 7th, Clubs from across the country gathered at various venues in support of the John Giles Foundation. The football community took part in events at 20 locations. Organising an event of this nature is not an easy task. With this in mind, we would like to sincerely thank all those who cooperated in making this year’s Walk of Dreams a big success.
The event saw a turnout from a number of local celebrities including former Republic of Ireland star, Ray Houghton and musician, Dickie Rock. Like last year, it was great to see some famous personalities taking part and showing their support for a great cause. The numbers participating in walks at different venues is a real sign of just how well loved the sport of football is in our country and how passionate people are about the game.
In addition to the walks which took place, there was a wealth of other activity including a challenge football match between teams of players from the Schoolboy District League at the Aviva Stadium.
Yours in football,
John Giles Foundation.
